Nestlé needs YOUth

Nestlé has a long tradition of recruiting young people directly from schools or universities. In 2013 youth unemployment in Europe was at a critical level, and we felt we could do even more to help address it. Focusing on creating first job experiences, we launched the Nestlé needs YOUth initiative.

Nestlé is seeking to help more young people out of school and into work. This includes apprenticeships - a key success factor in bridging the gap between school and the workplace.

We committed to offer 20,000 jobs and training opportunities for young people under the age of 30 in Europe by 2016. As of November 2016 we have already created 32,000 opportunities for young people-including 20 000 jobs and 12,000 apprenticeships and traineeships.

In addition Nestlé will offer 15,000 apprenticeships and traineeships as part of an overall commitment to offer 35,000 work opportunities for young people in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa by 2020.

 


Alliance for YOUth

In order to create an even bigger societal impact, Nestlé founded the Alliance for YOUth in 2014 with more than 200 companies participating.

The 'Alliance for YOUth' is the first pan-European business-driven movement pledging to help young people be better prepared to enter the professional world, and improve their chances in a challenging job market. 115,000 young Europeans found jobs or training opportunities in the first two years of the 'Alliance for YOUth'. Spanning the globe

Nestlé has launched a global youth initiative that widens the reach of the successful programme in Europe. The Nestlé Global Youth Initiative aims to develop young talent for the company and help tackle the global youth unemployment crisis.

Nestlé Mexico is the first market outside of Europe to implement the expanded job initiative.
